The Rebirth of Lebois & Co Luxury Watch Brand

The famous Lebois & Co. watchmaking company was originally founded on December 14, 1934 by French manufacturer Raymond Dodane, who was an offspring of the famous Dodane family known for their luxury chronograph watches . But in 1947 this brand was sold to the Italian company. For over 25 years, Lebois & Co. timepieces were still being produced in the Dodane factory. However, in 1972 the company ceased the production of high-end luxury watches, and the brand name disappeared for a long time. But its perfect timepieces have remained in the memory of many people, in particular, collectors and connoisseurs of the watchmaking art, who still try to find and buy any of Lebois & Co. designer watches.


About a year ago, Dutch entrepreneur Tom van Wijlick and his girlfriend Eveline decided to resurrect Lebois & Co. In fact, Tom has always wanted to start his own luxury watch brand, but he had no idea what type of timepieces to create. Everything fell into place when this couple of watch enthusiasts saw a wonderful representative of vintage chronograph wrist watches created by Lebois & Co. They printed the picture of this model, stuck it to their fridge and began to explore the history of this brand and its owners. It wasn't an easy work, but the photo on the fridge gave enough inspiration to go forward. After all, this led to the re-launch of the forgotten brand and re-registration of its name - Lebois & Co. It is not a secret that to start a new brand, especially connected with the production of quality watches for men and women almost from scratch, you should have a lot of funding. That's why Tom decided to part-fund the resurrection of the company using crowdfunding to let his dream come true.


The new luxury watch model created under the brand name Lebois & Co. is called Avantgarde Date. It is the first variation of three limited editions that will be realized in the nearest future. This piece of brand new watches features a 40mm stainless steel case that is presented on a blue Louisiana alligator leather strap. The white dial of this designer watch contains applied index hour markers, luminescent silver hour and minute hands, a minute track with Arabic numerals, a red central seconds hand and also a date display. Additionally, this sample of high-end luxury watches has sapphire crystal and a screw-down case back with special “Re-launch” engraving. This new model of Lebois & Co. watches is equipped with a Swiss automatic ETA 2824-2 movement that includes 25 jewels. It beats at the frequency of 28,800 vph and has 38-hour power reserve. Furthermore, this example of stylish watches for men is waterproof up to 100 meters. And certainly it is a limited edition of just 100 copies worldwide!
